External Funding Opportunities

& Funding Information

Community of Science

The University of Toledo uses a service called Community of Science (COS) that allows members of the university to search for funding opportunities, grants, awards and fellowships online using a comprehensive database. Everyone affiliated with The University of Toledo can be a member of the COS system!
Don't worry, it's not just about science!!
COS offers funding opportunities for all fields and interests!

If you are a faculty member, student or staff at UT, but not yet a member of COS, please join here.

For more information on how to use the COS system to search for funding opportunities, click here for 2-page PDF.

Please be on the lookout for COS training courses! If you would like to request a presentation on COS for your department, or just have questions on it, please contact
Rick Francis, x6193.

The IRIS Database currently contains over 9,000 active federal and private funding opportunities in the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. In addition to funding opportunities for faculty, the IRIS Database also contains fellowships and scholarships for grad students and undergrads. Users can search IRIS by sponsor, deadline date, keyword, and other criteria. Most IRIS records contain live links to sponsor Web sites, electronic forms, or Electronic Research Administration (eRA) portals. The IRIS Database is updated daily.
